Do you find yourself needing water or another beverage to quench your thirst more often than not? Do you ever have issues swallowing some foods? Does the inside of your mouth ever feel sticky? If any of these conditions are applicable to you, you may be suffering from what millions of Americans suffer from: dry mouth. 
 
Dry mouth affects approximately 25% of Americans. Dr. Lechenr wants everyone in the Delaware, OH are to have healthy and happy mouths. This means that he wants you to be educated on one of the most common disorders. What is Dry Mouth?
 
The obvious, but right answer is a lack of saliva. But you may not know why saliva is so important. Saliva serves two major functions for our health. First, it is key in your digestive process. Second, saliva is one of your best defenses against oral health problems like cavities. 


Why is it a Problem?

 

Dry mouth is a problem because of the other diseases it can lead to. Some of the problems that dry mouth causes are an increase in cavities, gum disease, and more. Additionally, dry mouth can be an early cause of diabetes.
